Therapeutic effect of Trimebutine Maleate (Polybutine^(®)) in functional disturbance of gastrointestinal tract

Abstract
|
|
|
Twenty patients with functional disturbance of gastrointestinal tract received Trimebutine Maleate orally for one or two weeks. The drugs other than Trimebutine were not administered in order to test therapeutic effect of Trimebutine.
At the end of trial, the patients on Trimebutine showed a good result of therapy in 80% of the cases. Abdominal discomfort, epigastric discomfort and flatulence were improved more markedly than other complaints.
It can be concluded that Trimebutine (Polybutine®) exerts its good effect on the treatment of the patients with functional disturbance of digestive tract.
